Paul D. Bueche, the current City Manager, serves as the chief administrator of the City of Swartz Creek. The City Manager is responsible for the daily administration of all city operations, and directly supervises the department heads such as the Assessor, Building and Zoning Official, City Clerk, City Treasurer, Department of Public Works, and Police Chief. Some of the items that the City Manager's office oversees include: General administration, budget administration, personnel management, inter-governmental relations, and other stuff, difficult to understand stuff.
