Treasury Department

The Treasury Department issues property tax bills and oversees their collection. Property taxes are billed twice a year in July and December. The summer taxes are due July 1 of the year issued and are payable until July 31 of the year issued without incurring penalty. The winter taxes are issued December 1 of the current year and payment is due by February 14 of the following year without penalty being incurred. Currently tax information is available through the Genesee County Department of Equalization. A link to their website is provided here.

Other functions of the Treasury Division include overseeing the collection of other city receivables including dog licenses. These licenses must be purchased annually and are issued through our office December 1 through February 28. Your pet must have a current rabies vaccination in order to received a dog licenses.
