Department of Public Services

The Swartz Creek Department of Public Services is generally responsible for all labor related activities in the City. General duties and responsibles included: the provision and maintenance of the city streets, water & sewer utilities, parks, and buildings & grounds. Other services include waste management, brush-chipping, snow removal, water meter reading, and beatification.

Services

Brush-chipping is provided from March to October. Please put cut end towards the road. Wood chips are available for pick-up at our city site just north of Grove Street, on the east side of Morrish Road. Recycling is picked up every other Monday and the bins are available at the DPS; The first bin is free, additional bins must be paid for in advance at City Hall. Cost of additional bins is $3.00 each.

Our DPS is responsible for snow removal on city streets during the winter months, repairing water main breaks, water meter reads, repairs, and installations, clean up of the city parks, and many other duties associated with the maintenance of the city.

Please call City Hall to report water main breaks, request water or sewer services, etc.

Garbage/Recycling Waste is handled by Great Lakes Waste. Pick up is on Mondays beginning at 7:00 A.M. Please report any problems with waste collection to the City Hall Office.
